I had never tried fish pie until making this one after it was recommended by a colleague of mine from the UK. The fluffy potato crust and smoky flavor of the haddock really stood out in this dish. Having eaten it three days in a row now for lunch, you can say I’m a fan of the fish pie.
I hadn’t heard of a sushi burrito until a few months ago. It’s like a maki roll on steroids. You can pack them with fish, shrimp, vegetables, whatever you can fit inside. Just not too much or you might not be able to close it.
Instead of syrup, try some salmon. Breakfast, dinner… doesn’t matter. A potato fish pancake tastes good any time of day.
Traveled up the Washington coast this weekend with two buddies from high school and thought grilling some fresh salmon sounded like a nice change from the gas station snacks & candy. We kept the ingredients simple, so you don’t have to pack the whole spice rack next time you’re hiking & hungry. Let’s begin.
