For Labor Day Weekend this year, we returned to New Buffalo, MI for Lobster Mania Part 2. Returning home with our two beautiful lobsters my aunt suggested this twist on escargot. The result… a garlicky explosion of seafood & cheese with each and every bite.
I had never tried fish pie until making this one after it was recommended by a colleague of mine from the UK. The fluffy potato crust and smoky flavor of the haddock really stood out in this dish. Having eaten it three days in a row now for lunch, you can say I’m a fan of the fish pie.
Here’s a recipe to try after your next payday. Why? Because crab is expensive! But don’t worry, these crab cakes should last you a few meals. With them being so rich, it’s tough to eat more than one or two in a sitting.
I try to keep these recipes relatively healthy but was craving something fried, so I thought calamari would be a good one to try. First attempt did not turn out well (I forgot to coat the squid with egg and all the breading fell off), but round two was a success. Here’s to bringing a classic Italian seafood dish into your kitchen…meep!
Was lucky to get a picture of this one. Gracie tried to snatch the trout from the counter when I left the room but fortunately only came away with its tail. Hope she enjoyed the fish as much as I did. Mulliard!
